San Diego Chargers San Diego's NFL team, the San Diego Chargers. After joining the NFL from the AFL in 1970 the Chargers have made it to the playoffs several times and even to the Super Bowl. Currently they are one of the top NFL teams to watch. They have a terrific defense and an electrifying offense. They always put on a good game so come out and see the Chargers at Qualcomm Stadium. |

San Diego Padres Since their founding in 1969 this Major League Baseball team has made San Diego its home. Famous Padres include Dave Winfield, Randy Jones, Steve Garvey and Tony Gywnn. The Padres play downtown at Petco Park from April through September (and with any luck into October). |

SDSU Aztec Athletics The Cox Arena on the campus of San Diego State University is home to the Aztecs men's and women's basketball teams. They are have NCAA Division I sports program and are part of the Mountain West Conference. You can watch the men's football team play at Qualcomm Stadium in Mission Valley, which is also home to the Chargers. |

Golf With the sun shining nearly daily and a variety of different courses, golfing in San Diego is a treat year round. There are over 90 different courses located in San Diego County. The Lodge at Torrey Pines hosts the Buick Invitational yearly and La Costa hosts the World Golf Championships. |

Surfing What could be more San Diegan than surfing. Up and down the coast there are great spots to catch some waves. If you are new to the sport you can rent equipment and even take lessons through various surf schools in Pacific Beach and La Jolla. |
