San Diego Convention Center
San Diego Convention Center is located in Downtown San Diego right on the San Diego Bay. The San Diego Convention Center is only a five minute drive from the airport and once you are at the convention center everything within the downtown area can be walked too including Gaslamp restaurants and shops and Petco Park. The bay front location in San Diego's Marina District makes it easy to walk along the bay front and to charming Seaport Village.
The Convention Center in San Diego was originally built in 1989 and in 2001 it was expanding doubling in size. Today the convention center has over 500,000 square feet of convention space making it one of the largest in North America. The most striking feature of the convention center is its maritime design. A series of sails created out of teflon and fiberglass reflect the ares history. The great climate and beautiful space make thousand host conferences in San Diego every year.
The San Diego Convention Center is host to several large events. It was the site for the 1996 Republican National Convention. There are also a variety of other conferences from medical to business and anything else you can imagine. By far the biggest convention held yearly is Comic Con, a convention where comic book and movie creators and those that love them all convene for a week.

San Diego Convention Center San Diego is a wonderful place to host a convention. Not only is the convention center spacious and sunny and beautufil, but it is in a great location. There is a walking path that goes around the bay just outside of the convention centre. There is a San Diego trolley stop right accross the street and there are so many really great hotels, restaurants and shops wtihing walking distance.
