Just East of the beaches with the I-8 freeway cradled within lies Mission Valley. While not the most culturally stunning part of the city it is a hub for shopping. This open-air shopping mall houses hundreds of shops. It is home to Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, JCPennys, Macy's, and AMC Theatres. Along with department stores you'll also find a variety of upscale shops such as Burberry, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Apple and Tiffany & Co. Many San Diegans consider it the best mall in San Diego.

Qualcomm Stadium
The stadium is located in the heart of Mission Valley off of Friars Road with easy access from most central locations by freeway and public transportation. The 70,000 plus Qualcomm Stadium is the home of the San Diego Chargers, the San Diego State Aztec football team, the Poinsettia Bowl and the Holiday Bowl.

Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcalá

This was the first of California's 21 Missions founded in 1769 by Father Junipero Serra. It is still an active parish in San Diego, although it is not longer run by the Franciscan priests who founded it. The museum and grounds can be visited daily.
