Pacific Beach & Mission Beach
When summer rolls around, and the weekend arrives, Pacific Beach becomes a good-times brouhaha. You can delve into the populated fray, where beautiful women are abundant, or seek a low-intensity scene slightly south on Mission Beach. Cruise along the boardwalk and see a unique display of stylin' bikes and inventive skateboards. Find a spot on the sand and chill-back, or partake in a game of volleyball, bocce ball, "shoes", over the line, or home-run-derby-style Wiffle ball. When it starts getting hot, head out to the surf and ride the waves. Families will enjoy the Bay side of Mission Beach where the water is calm and the scene is a little calmer. The beach side has more of a party atmosphere where bars dot the boardwalk and BBQs can be found at every turn.

Restrooms and Showers:
Mission Beach - Public restrooms and showers are located at Ventura St. at the south side of Belmont Park.
Pacific Beach - Public restrooms and showers are located at Grand Ave. There are no public restrooms between
Pacific Beach Drive and Mission Beach.
Beach Fires: Beach fires are only to be in the containers provided on the sand. Only charcoal, wood, or paper products can be burned on the beach the fire maybe not exceed twelve inches above the top of the fire container. Before you leave you are obligated to extinguish the fire.
Regulations:
- Dogs (must be on leash at all times) are allowed on the beaches only from 6:00pm - 9:00am.
- Alcohol may not be consumed on the boardwalk or while touching the sea wall
- You may consume Alcohol on the beach from noon - 8:00pm if you are of legal age. Note glass containers are prohibited.
Parking:
Mission Beach - Extensive free public parking is available on the north and south side of Belmont Park, and at the foot of West Mission Bay Drive. There is additional parking in two lots across the street adjacent to Bonita Cove. These lots fill very quickly on busy summer days and traffic can be heavy at times.
Pacific Beach - Parking is limited to street parking and difficult to come by. |
