Will I need to rent a car?
If you stay downtown you can probably get away without it because everything is so walkable and there are several trolley stops close by. Otherwise it would be wise to rent one. The attractions in San Diego are spread out and many (like SeaWorld) are not easily accessible by foot.

What kind of clothing should I pack?
If you are not from a warm climate then pack your shorts because San Diego rarely gets below 65 degrees even in winter. Also bring a light jacket and pants though because once the sun sets it can get chilly along the coast. It is best to layer your outfits so you'll always be comfortable.
